1. School Air Monitor Installation Project
Installing Air Monitors in Schools in the communities.
In a rapidly growing community in Ghana with an estimated population of over 300,000, access to reliable air quality data was extremely limited, with only one functional air quality monitor
available.
To address this critical gap, Quali-Breeze successfully installed two additional air quality monitoring devices at FootPrint School, Awutu Breku and KAAF University College, Buduburam both located in the Kasoa area of Ghana’s Central Region. These installations significantly
expand access to real-time air quality data for schools, students, and surrounding communities.
The monitors provide valuable insights into local air pollution levels, helping to raise awareness, inform preventive actions, and support evidence-based decision-making. Data from the installed monitors can be accessed online through IQAir app.
Building on this progress, Quali-Breeze is committed to scaling this initiative and aims to deploy 100 air quality monitors across Ghana, strengthening nationwide air quality awareness and public health protection.

2. Social Awareness & Education Initiatives
In Kasoa, an estimated 8 out of 10 residents are unaware of the health dangers of air pollution.
Additionally, approximately 6 out of 10 households engage in open waste burning as a means of disposal, significantly contributing to poor air quality and associated health risks.
To address this gap, Quali-Breeze actively delivers community-focused education and awareness programmes aimed at promoting cleaner air and healthier living. As part of these efforts, we successfully organized a capacity-building workshop for journalists across Ghana, including
professionals from broadcast, print, digital, and audio media. The workshop focused on air
quality, pollution reporting, and effective environmental communication within local
communities. The event brought together 34 participants from diverse organizations, strengthening media engagement in environmental advocacy.
Beyond workshops, Quali-Breeze continues to promote sustainable solutions and empower individuals to make informed decisions on air pollution through outreach across television platforms, conferences, religious and social gatherings, schools, neighbourhoods, markets, and
digital spaces. Our work is driven by a strong commitment to advocating for clean air, protecting
public health, and fostering environmentally responsible communities.
Support our mission by contributing to our work and helping us expand air quality awareness and action across Ghana.
3. Research & Policy Engagement
Air pollution is a major global health and environmental crisis, responsible for an estimated 7 million premature deaths each year worldwide. In Africa alone, 1.1 million deaths were linked to air pollution in 2019, with approximately 28,000 deaths annually in Ghana.
At Quali-Breeze, our work is grounded in evidence-based research that identifies pollution hotspots, assesses community exposure, and determines where interventions can deliver the
greatest impact. Our findings guide practical, sustainable solutions and informed targeted actions at the community level.
We actively engage policymakers, stakeholders, and local communities to influence data-driven
policies, strengthen environmental governance, and advance effective air quality interventions.
With donor support, we are expanding research efforts to deepen understanding of air pollution dynamics in Ghana and translate evidence into lasting policy and health outcomes.
Support our research and help drive informed policies for cleaner air and healthier communities.
4. Clean Cooking for 1000 Kasoa Homes Project:
Did you know that 7 out of 10 food vendors in Kasoa still rely on firewood and charcoal for
cooking? This practice contributes significantly to air pollution, poor waste management, and
negative public health outcomes.
The Clean Cooking for 1000 Kasoa Homes Project aims to promote safe, affordable, and
environmentally friendly cooking solutions by empowering communities with practical knowledge, tools, and sustainable alternatives. The project supports cleaner energy use, improved waste management, and healthier living environment.
Through this initiative, Quali-Breeze will distribute:
ï‚· 1,000 LPG cooking stoves
ï‚· 100 electric cooking stoves
ï‚· 100 household waste bins
ï‚· 1,000 tree seedlings
These resources will be provided to market women, persons living with disabilities, community transport operators, low-income households, and youths within the Kasoa area.
To encourage responsible waste management, participants will be required to bring a minimum of 5kg of plastic waste in exchange for a clean cook stove.
